Muslim Youth of Minnesota |
It was a very spiritually uplifting event to show Muslim presence and support community efforts to help people in need. The youth felt blessed and hope to have had an impact both on the lives of those they assisted as well as their own. The youth were greeted with occasional salaams and thank you wishes. Meal Service Assistant project through Salvation Army is a way for volunteers to assist in preparing, serving and the cleanup of meals at Harbor Light Center, the Salvation Army's homeless shelter in downtown Minneapolis. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served every day, year round. The qualities desired by this project are: feel compassion for others; sensitive to issues of homelessness and aware of diverse cultural backgrounds and differences. More Details |

Sisters’ Roller Skating |
Sisters’ Skating was a great success. It provided a social opportunity for the sisters to enjoy each other’s company and rollerskate while listening to nasheeds. Sisters who did not know how to skate also enjoyed the experience and received instruction on skating. |

MYM planned a social opportunity for fathers and sons, a winter outing to learn about each other and have fun. This activity was organized by the youth so they could participate in winter outdoor activities and also to be able to spend quality time with their family & friends. The participants also enjoyed the bus ride and hot chocolate afterwards. |

MYM 10th Year Anniversary |
We are proud to announce that the Muslim Youth of MN (MYM), with the blessing of God Almighty, has completed 10 years of leadership, service and inspiration to the youth in our community. Realizing the social challenges that Muslim youth face in today’s society, MYM has focused on providing fun, permissible alternatives to activities that don’t correspond to our faith. In addition to social, recreation and sporting events, MYM has provided youth in Minnesota with unconventional educational opportunities, service and leadership experience, college scholarships, mentorship, and community outreach opportunities. MYM members consist of Muslim teenagers, ages 13-17, from various backgrounds and from across the state. Please join us on Saturday Feb 09 to celebrate this milestone. |
